Brilliant post Alicia. If this is your level of writing with "baby brain", you're going to be awesome when you return from maternity leave. Good luck for your remaining four weeks.

Yup, this case shows off the dangers of using Twitter. The whole point of PR was to stop businesses (in particular those who hadn't got any experience talking to the press) from just firing out thoughts without considering what was being said.

Lots of people will put disclaimers like "My thoughts are not representative of the company's" but ultimately if we know who you work for and it's a work-related tweet then the world will pick up on it.

Maybe PR firms need to make very sure that their clients are either trained up on Twitter, or make sure they stand as a filter for their clients and fix tweets before they go public.

Good post Holly. Having spent 5 days on the West coast of Scotland without a mobile signal, I totally agree with you on the benefits of disconnecting to have a proper break. David Lavenda agrees with you too. In his post on Business Computing World: "7 Tips for increasing personal productivity”. He advocates creating boundaries between your online and offline life, so that when you're at work you're not distracted by friends/social media and when you're at home you're not distracted by work emails.
