Social Media

‘Social media‘ is a collective term commonly given to online tools and other interactive communication technologies which allow users to interact with each other, by sharing information, opinions, knowledge and interests. As the name implies, social media involves the building of communities or networks, encouraging participation and engagement.

Blogs are perhaps the most well known example of social media, but the term encompasses a growing number of technologies. Examples include twitter, podcasts, ‘wikis’, message boards, social bookmarking websites, social networking websites and content sharing websites. In a social media environment, the only way that a client will succeed is to get involved in the online conversation, offering real, useful and honest insight. éclat is actively working with clients in a social media framework, and helping them to embrace these new communications platforms. This can be as either part of their existing PR campaign, or as a standalone service.
