#SquadGoals

Here at éclat we like to do things as a team – this year’s Triathlon and next year’s Tough Mudder are testament to that. But the latest activity we’ve signed up for is a bit more altruistic…the majority of us are now officially blood donors.

It got me thinking about how well we all work together, and how that inevitably transfers into our professional lives. We each have a role to play in our client teams and we gel in such a way that we know we’re going to achieve our targets. I think it’s safe to say we all embody a role or two based on Belbin’s Team Roles (university theory eat-you-heart-out) and the ability to work as part of a team is definitely something we consider when we look for the next member of the éclat troupe.

So how else does this apply to our world of PR? Well, the world is changing at a rapid pace, and so is our profession. In just a few short years we’ve gone from solely relying on the traditional press release to incorporating video, blogging and social into our repertoire. This means we need to constantly upgrade our skillsets, and look for people who embody not only traditional PR skills we need but also those who are also ready and willing to embrace change. These are definitely our #SquadGoals.

So while we may not be as prolific as Taylor Swift’s #Swifties or Justin Beiber’s #Beliebers, we are #éclaties* through and through and teamwork is just one of the things that makes us great!

*Squad name may be subject to change as we cannot currently decide!

Can we talk?
